If you have had limited coursework in basic math concepts, or it has been a while since you have studied math, this add-on math refresher course will help you prepare for success in the Foundations of Automated Equipment Maintenance course, or any other mechatronics/maintenance/industrial technician training course offered here at Unmudl.


The Foundations of Equipment Maintenance Math Refresher is a math review that can be added to the full course, Foundations of Equipment Maintenance. This math refresher is designed for learners who would like to review their basic math skills before completing Foundations of Automated Equipment Maintenance. 


This Math Refresher is a 5-hour self-paced online course that reviews basic math concepts including integers, operations, equations, decimals, fractions, and geometry. 


The course is assessed by a final quiz on each individual module. Learners need to achieve 80% or higher on each final quiz to be successful and have three attempts to pass each quiz. There are suggested free resources for learners who would like further study in math. 

After This Course, You Will Be Able To
● Define integers, decimals, fractions, and variables. ● Describe and compute the four basic operations with integers, decimals, and fractions. ● Describe and use the order of operations. ● Define variables and explain how they are used in equations. ● Describe how to solve inequalities. ● Describe how to convert decimals and fractions. ● Define percentages and describe three ways to find them. ● Define averages and describe three types. ● Define ratios and describe how they are expressed. ● Describe geometry and explain dimensions. ● Describe endpoints, rays, line segments, and angles. ● Describe polygons and solid figures. ● Describe how to measure geometric shapes. ● Describe the Cartesian coordinate system.

Eligibility

There are no prerequisites for Foundations of Automated Equipment Maintenance, and there are no prerequisites for the math unit. Learners must have an adequate computer system and internet access for connecting to Talent LMS and Amatrol.
